The Scientific Compute Platform addresses complex computational challenges in bioscience research by delivering innovative solutions at both the application and infrastructure levels. The team manages a cutting-edge, high-performance, high-throughput computing cluster tailored specifically to meet the needs of bioscience research across the entire CZ Biohub ecosystem.
Optimized for advanced research, the cluster offers a diverse mix of GPUs and CPUs, over 40 PB of storage, and a 100-Gbps direct connection to scientific instruments for seamless data transfer. Through the Condo Cluster program, Biohub members can purchase and integrate their own compute nodes, expanding the cluster’s capacity as required.
The Platform also collaborates on custom-built solutions to support both microscopy and genomics research. In microscopy, the team focuses on enhancing the speed and efficiency of image acquisition, visualization, and segmentation for volumetric data, including efforts to parallelize visualization tools for faster image rendering. Genomics research is supported through high-throughput data processing, large-scale data storage, workflow management, and bioinformatics software optimization — continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in bioscience research.
